Weekend Update pt 2

So if you guys ever wondered where my craziness came from, it comes from my mom. If you ever wondered why I'm such a jerk, it comes from my mom. So when I got in town, my mom made me dinner when she should have been sleeping. Then she tells me a few stories to entertain me and apparently herself. She was telling me how my dad is loosing his teeth and it's quite understandable since he smokes so much. But he lost one of his incisors and my mom makes fun of him and says I can't look at him without laugh now. And everytime he smiles, she tell him to close his mouth. Ironically, my mom has lost a tooth herself. Weird to see how my parents are getting old. My mom went to a dentist about a loose tooth and she had it removed very painfully so she's really upset about him. She kept saying how the this short man removed his tooth and mocks how the dentist's wife is bigger than he is. I was told in Korea that you're called a frog if you marry a bigger girl since frogs are one the species where the females are larger. I had no doubt my mom taught me how to be so critical after eating dinner with her. So then we decided to watch a movie. Well my mom is crazy. First of all, she doesn't understand English very well and she's always making up her own plot. Honestly, if you want to be entertained, watch a movie that you've already seen with my mom and the sound turned off and she'll make up a whole new story. On top of that, she falls asleep and starts snoring. Well immediately she wakes up from the noise and starts asking me if I were snoring. I was like, "Mom, it was you, crazy." Insane how my parents had so much influence in my life. She also made a comment during the movie how white women have nice bodies and face while Asians are lucky to have a nice face. She was describing what makes a woman's body look nice and I was thinking the exact same thing. And then the next day I was taking a picture of her with my phone. And immediately when she saw me ready to take a picture she does these goofy poses. It's incredible. She then took me to a Chinese Buffet because she wanted me to meet the Chinese people there. And the owner who is a women starts speaking English to my mom. And my mom and the Chinese lady have a whole ten minute conversation in broken English. I really thought it was a competition to sound the least coherent. They were speaking another language that I never heard of. I was in awe and in pain at the same time. Then at the restaurant, I had to tell my mom to quiet down because she was being too loud. Seriously, if you guys ever met my mom, it's no mystery why I act the way I do.

It's really amazing how in a small town, everyone knows each other. Their mall consists of a Cinema 4, General Dollar and a Beall's. Walmart and HEB killed the town. There's hardly any sucessful small business there. All in all, the whole trip was a very humbling experience.
