Swingers

I just saw a VH1 News on Swingers and man that was the weirdest thing I have ever watched. Usually I sit in bed and find a show to watch to put me to sleep. So I was watching something boring on VH1 like Richest Celebrities or something. So it ends within a couple minutes and this documentary on Swingers comes on. If you don't know what swingers are, they are people that sleep with strangers. I thought swingers were usually ugly couples or singles that just wanted to get laid. Well on the contrary, all the girls looked really good. The first couple they showed were "veterans" in the scene and they were fit and very active. Next were novices which they called "newbies" and were more like any ordinary couple. The girl wanted to explore while the guy was ok with it as long as the other person was female. The last couple was a married couple who has a 16 year old boy. I thought this was the most interesting and bizarre because they were married and had a kid but then go meet strangers to get laid. And they would meet other swingers through the internet which I thought was bunch of old horny guys trying to rape you or some ugly chick. In fact, there's a whole group of good looking couples looking to hook up with other couples.

I guess people have different boundaries. I mean, I wouldn't mind someone physically interacting with my girl friend or wife, but the line is crossed when someone makes out or has sex with her. Basically the newbie couple had problems because the girl would go around and want to get laid while the guy was getting really jealous and thinking his girl was a slut. It was funny because there's this guy that runs these sex parties. And he was saying how some couples don't know how to distinguish the difference between sex and love to explain why the newbie couple had a hard time. I think most couples are ok with the fact that the other is attracted to another person. But seriously, I would be super uncomfortable with my wife screwing some other guy. I cracked up laughing when the newbie girl told her boyfriend, "you can hook up with some other girl and I won't be jealous" to make her boyfriend feel not so jealous of the whole situation.

I guess swingers identify themselves through sex as the same way gays and lesbians do. I guess if this is what you want to do and who you are I have no problem with it. But I really can't see a healthy relationship coming out of this. Honestly if you're married and need the anxiety to spice up your sexual life by screwing strangers, you probably need to grow up more.
